We  visited Yellowstone NPk in July 2005 and had a great time.
Here we are at the Upper Falls of the Yellowstone River,

And this is what a grandnephew
looks like on his first-ever
camping-hiking-mountain trip.

We saw thermal features: Old Faithful, of course,
but also smaller geysers and the
terraces at Mammoth Hot Springs.

The falls again and
a close-up.

The wildlife viewing
was great:  we saw
Bison, repeatedly,

We always look for an Ouzel (American Dipper)
bird around small waterfalls; this one is so young it
seemed shy about diving into the water for its food.
Normally, dippers swim as well as they can fly.

There were Elk too far away for me
to photograph, so here is a bronze one
we saw at the Elk Center in Missoula, MT.

Mountain goats were seen in the distance
at Yellowstone, but in Glacier NPk, they
were close.

This deer was staying at the
elegant Prince of Wales Hotel in
Canada's Waterton Lake NPk.
