Zion National Park is one of our favorites.
The valley floor has lovely trees nourished
by the Virgin River and is surrounded by
lofty cliffs of varicolored rock.
To ascend Angel's Landing (below, left), one starts by hiking 42 switchbacks ...
... but the view down is pretty impressive.
