Canadian Rockies 2004 - Maligne Canyon

Maligne Canyon is a narrow steep-walled canyon, up to 160 feet deep. We consider it the most picturesque of the many canyons we visit in these parks. It is bordered by a good walking path.
The canyon is located on a side-road east of Jasper townsite. The Maligne River, which runs through it, was named by a French missionary because he experienced a very "wicked" crossing of it.
At page 3 of this set you get a view of the very scenic
Maligne Lake at the end of this side-road.
